Art Conservation in Grove

Under the guidance of conservator Jean-François de Lapérouse, of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and in partnership with The Institute of Conservation (ICON), Grove Art has undertaken a project to expand our content on Art Conservation. In addition to updating articles to reflect the current ethos and concerns of the conservation community, Grove will revise and expand our coverage on risk evaluation and treatment for a variety of materials and specialisms, adding new and exclusive illustrations. An intensive rewriting of our article on Technical Examination will reflect advances in science and methodology. A reorganization of conservation content will make these topics more visible and easily searchable. Together, these resources will provide a ready syllabus of updated materials for students and other readers interested in the examination and treatment of cultural heritage. New and updated articles include Preventative Techniques in Conservation, Architectural Conservation, Conservation Training and Institutes, and materials conservation articles on Brick, Plastics, Textiles, and Wallpaper.
