What's New July 2021

July 29, 2021

This month, Grove Art publishes 6 new and 23 revised articles, as well as 6 emendations as part of our regular corrections process. Updates include entries on Hong Kong, Chinese installation artist Chen Zhen as well as a new entry on Taiwanese painter Chuang Che. Much of this new scholarship comes from Grove’s ongoing major project on Asian art, led by Dr. Sonya Lee of USC and spanning thousands of articles across the dictionary.

Benezit publishes 23 updated biographies this month, including English artist Sir Edwin Henry Landseer, known for his fetching depictions of animals, and contemporary artist Teresa Margolles, whose work examines the social violence revealed by death, using her experiences as a forensic technician in Mexico City’s morgue to probe the brutality in contemporary urban society.
