What's new in December 2024

This month, Grove Art publishes newly revised entries on Japanese art and architecture, including updated biographies of Utagawa Hiroshige and Katsushika Hokusai, the leading exponents of the ukiyo-e genre of woodblock prints. This material was updated as part of our ongoing project on Asian art and architecture, overseen by Prof. Sonya Lee at USC. Other new and updated entries cover contemporary artists including Takashi Murakami, Beatriz González, Clarissa Sligh, and William Pope.L. In addition, this month’s update includes a new guide to Latin American art and architecture, written by Prof. Tom Cummins of Harvard University. Spanning Pre-Columbian to contemporary art, this guide accompanies the multi-year project, supervised by Prof. Cummins, to update and expand Grove’s 1,300+ articles this field.
