What's new in September 2020

September 16, 2020

This month, Grove Art publishes 13 new and 47 revised articles, as well as 1 emendation as part of our regular corrections process. This important new material comes from Grove’s initiative to add new entries on architecturally significant sites and structures, with new articles including Bruno Taut’s Glashaus in Cologne and St. Pancras Station in London. New articles also publish from our ongoing project in Latin American art, spanning thousands of topics across the dictionary. New and fully rewritten entries cover major Pre-Columbian sites and cultures, including Cupisnique, Caral, and Calakmul. Learn how to say key Pre-Columbian art terms with our Pronunciation Guide, with recordings of names pronounced by scholars in the field.

Benezit publishes 6 updated biographies, including Abstract Expressionist painter Elaine de Kooning and Alison Knowles, a founding member of Fluxus working in a range of media from performance to silkscreen to soundworks.
