Yvonne Soutra was a pupil of Maurice Denis and Georges Desvallières at the Atelier d'Art Sacré (Studio of Sacred Art), founded in 1919.

She produced murals in France, Angola and in Mörschwill and Freiburg in Switzerland. She created sculptures for the Foch Hospital in Suresnes, the Paul-Brousse Hospital in Villejuif, Dijon Hospital and in Balzers, Liechtenstein.
