Alan Belcher lives and works in Toronto and New York. In the Pop Art tradition, Belcher uses advertising images, meaningfully exploiting their powers of enticement. His work consists of glossy colour photographs that are usually pinned, screwed, nailed or wrapped around various objects made of Plexiglas, metal or wood. By using the seductive colours of publicity photographs, and their perfect finish, Belcher's sculpture works on two levels.
