Ayman Baalbaki was born in 1975 at the beginning of a brutal 15-year Lebanese civil war and Israeli occupation. Following the war, his family fled their home in southern Lebanon near the Israeli border and relocated to a Jewish quarter in downtown Beirut, Wadi Abu Jamil. Baalbaki grew up in a family of painters and went on to obtain a degree in painting and sculpting from the Institute of Fine Arts at the Lebanese University of Beirut (...
