Lawrence Paul Yuxweluptun graduated from Emily Carr University of Art and Design in Vancouver (1983) with a BA in painting. As a First Nations artist, Yuxweluptun marries Euro-Canadian painting styles with indigenous socio-cultural concepts to re-present indigenous values. The National Gallery of Canada and the Vancouver Art Gallery hold significant permanent collections of his works, and he has exhibited broadly, from the Smithsonian’s National Gallery of the American Indian to the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indian and Western Art, where he was awarded a fellowship in Native American Fine Art in ...
