Vasi worked as a painter in his native Sicily, then travelled to Rome and studied under Sebastian Conca, P.L. Ghezzi and Juvara. He earned a reputation as a skilled engraver, working for a number of illustrious patrons including Ferdinand and Charles III of Naples, and Pope Benedict XIV.
