Francesco Grassi was a theatre decorator in the service of Philippe de Bourbon, Duke of Parma. He produced the plans for the decorations for the funeral of Princess Dorothea Sophie of Neuburg, which were engraved by G. Patrini, and for the funeral of Elisabeth de Bourbon. He also did the decorations for the marriage of Maria Isabella, the daughter of Philippe de Bourbon, to the archduke of Austria, the future Emperor Joseph II. The gallery in Parma owns a plan by him for a stage set, a landscape and a pen-and-ink drawing....
