Born 1829, in Bologna; died 1895, in Pesaro (Marche).

Painter, fresco artist, decorative designer. Landscapes, still-lifes (flowers/fruit). Frescoes, stage sets, church decoration, murals.

Augusto Ferri was the son of Domenico Ferri. After a trip to Paris with his father, he was taken on as a painter at the Teatro Regio in Turin. He spent time in Madrid too, designing sets for numerous operas. He also painted decorative frescoes in many churches, palaces and cafes in Madrid, Barcelona and Valladolid. Ferri is known in Turin for his decorative works in the palace of the Duke of Aosta....
