A conceptual artist who was recognised in the 1960s, Hans-Peter Feldmann left the art world in 1976 and only resurfaced in the 1980s. He lives and works in Düsseldorf. He works from reproductions, photocopies or plaster busts, which he might paint and retouch. In his unsigned images and objects produced as series, he increases the references to his own culture. His work could also draw on the concept of plagiarism as a criticism of the world of art and culture, invaded by these mass-produced images....
