Born 21 November 1922, in Paris.

Painter (including mixed media), engraver, draughtsman, illustrator, photographer. Figures, nudes, portraits, landscapes.

Bernard Dufour, son of the painter Jean-Jules Dufour, enrolled at the National Institute of Agronomy in Paris in 1942 where he met Alain Robbe-Grillet. During World War II he was called into service. He resumed his studies in 1945 and graduated as an agronomist the following year. At his own insistence he took part-time employment as a chemical engineer, working for the company that subsequently became the state-owned utility Gaz de France. He remained in the company's employ until 1954....
