Damnjanovic Damnjan graduated from the academy of fine arts in Belgrade in 1957.

Between 1959 and 1965, he painted fantastical landscapes and still-lifes. His landscapes are dominated by a vast, low sky, below which stretches a sandy coastline with fragments of flooring with diagrams, signals and symbols. His still-lifes of imaginary or useless objects are painted in a palette of violently contrasting tones. Damjanovic's work is distinguished by its unique mixture of the abstract and the dreamlike.
