Born 1909, in Heverlee; died 1995.

Painter, screen printer, sculptor, potter. Designs for stained glass.

Jan Cobbaert was a pupil at the fine arts academies in Louvain and in Brussels, and was awarded the Prix de Rome in 1937. He became a professor at the Louvain academy. Cobbaert executed monumental works using different techniques, and the fact that he was active in so many areas may have prevented him from discovering his true field of expertise....
