Born 1597, in Amsterdam or in Haarlem; died 11 May 1664, in Haarlem.

Painter. History painting, religious subjects, figures, portraits, landscapes.

Salomon de Bray was an architect and poet; he belonged to the guild of St-Adriaen from 1615 to 1630, and from 1616 to 1622 he was member of the academy of rhetoric at Wyngaadrranken. On 13th May 1625, he married Anna Westerbaen of The Hague, in Haarlem. From 1633 to 1640 Bray was director of the Guild. Like all the other members of his family, he died of the plague....
