Ross Bleckner studied at New York University, where he received a BA in 1971, and at the California Institute of Arts, obtaining an MFA in 1973. The work of Jasper Johns and other artists of the Op Art movement have been influential on Bleckner's work, as seen in his 1980s vertical stripe paintings. He is said to be one of the principal heirs of the aesthetic attitude of Andy Warhol....
