Painter, watercolourist, decorative artist. Religious subjects, landscapes with figures, scenes with figures. Murals, stage sets.

Araujo was above all a skilled painter of scenery. He managed the theatre in Lisbon's Bairo Alto. After entering the Third Franciscan Order's Convent of Jesus, he quickly realised he had mistaken his true vocation. Having made several paintings in the monastery, he abandoned monastic life and later married....
