Altomonte, Martino or Hohenberg

Active in Poland and Austria.
Born 8 May 1657, in Naples; died 14 September 1745, in Heiligenkreuz (Lower Austria).
Painter, fresco artist, engraver, draughtsman. Religious subjects, mythological subjects, portraits.
He travelled to Rome and studied under B. Gaulli (better known as Baciccio) and C. Maratti. He was 27 when he was invited to Warsaw by the then King Sobieski, at which juncture Altomonte translated his name into German and became Martin Hohenberg.
