Born 28 January 1828, in Louvain; died 19 April 1881, in Louvain.

Sculptor. Religious subjects.

In his work, Michel Abelloos sought to return to the tradition of the early masters. He executed the high altar of the church of St Basil in Bruges after drawings by Baron Jean Béthune. He was also responsible for the impressive high altar of St-Cruces near Bruges. Other examples of his work can be found in Belgium, the north of France and England....
