Jamil Hamoudi studied at the school of fine arts in Baghdad. He founded the review Al Fikr Al Hadith, ( Modern Thought), whose purpose was to make figures such as Gide, Valéry, Cocteau, Henry Moore, Bernard Shaw and Saroyan known in Iraq.
