Boncompain, Pierrelocked


French, 20th century, male.

Born 17 May 1938, in Valence.

Painter, pastellist, engraver (taille douce), illustrator. Figures, interiors with figures, landscapes, still-lifes.

In 1959 Boncompain was accepted at the École des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, and in 1963 he joined Legueult's studio at the École des Beaux-Arts. In 1970 he was nominated for the Paquement prize by the Amis du Musée d'Art Moderne (friends of the museum of modern art) and won the Critique prize. In 1972 he was employed by the Fondation du Château Lourmarin and in 1977 he was sent on an assignment to India....
