Giuseppe Amisani trained with Cesare Tallone and Vespesiano Bignami at the Accademia di Brera, Milan. In 1914 he began making frequent trips to Portofino and London; he also travelled around France, Egypt (where Prince Farouk commissioned paintings from him in the 1920s), Algeria and South America.
