Born c. 1541, in Florence; died 1589 or 1590 or 1596, in Rome or Florence.

A pupil and later a collaborator of Giorgio Vasari, Jacopo del Zucchi visited Rome during the pontificate of Gregory XIII and received the patronage of Cardinal Ferdinand de' Medici. He worked alongside Vasari on the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence and was also commissioned by Cardinal de' Medici to paint major frescoes, notably in his palazzo in Florence (...
