Antoine Poupel produces large canvases, pasted to aluminium, of religious images undermined by anatomical and erotic references taken from an 18th-century encyclopedia. He is also noted for his combination of photography and paint, and for a deliberately faulty use of photography that blurs certain elements in contrast to others which are clear and detailed....
