Jack Goldstein lived and worked in New York. In the late 1970s, he turned a critical eye on the world of the media, using studio assistants to execute neutral, almost technological, mass-produced images. His paintings of the 1980s focused on depictions of the sky and related phenomena such as lightning and comets, but also war, destruction and the conquest of space, with images of planes and flight squadrons.
