Born 29 April 1834, in Boulogne-sur-Seine.

Painter. Genre scenes, landscapes, seascapes.

Studied under Claude Jacquand and exhibited from 1857 to 1869. Painted somewhat romanticised scenes of London, medieval houses and canals, but adopted a more true-to-life approach in his rendering of seascapes and brightly lit fishing scenes....
