Arconio, Mariolocked


Italian, 17th century, male.

Born c. 1575, probably in Rome; died 1635, buried in Rome, in the portico of S Giovanni Laterano.


School of Rome.

Worked in Rome around 1600. He studied first painting, then architecture, in which latter discipline he built a considerable reputation. Pope Paul V appointed him to a privileged position at the papal court and Arconio was subsequently made Governor of Cori. He died at the age of 60 years....
