Jean-Louis Arbaretaz was a pupil at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, where he was awarded the second Grand Prix de Rome for engraving in 1966. Primarily an engraver, he frequently took religious themes for his subject matter, in a dark, even disturbing chromatic and psychological climate....
