Born in Scotland; died at the beginning of the 19th century.

Engraver, illustrator.

John Anderson was a pupil of Bewick. As a woodcut engraver, he illustrated the poem Grove Hill and an edition of the Letters of Junius. According to Redgrave, John Anderson was an accomplished engraver who nonetheless gave up his vocation to embark on a speculative venture in Europe....
