Painter, illustrator.

Ellen Wetherald Ahrens studied at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts School, then at the Pennsylvania Fine Arts School and the Drexel Institute. She was notably successful at the exhibitions she entered, winning a $1,000 prize at the Carnegie Institute and a silver medal in Pittsburgh.
